Hush puppies, smoked barbecue brisket, and cole slaw. Made with love and care using grandpa’s recipes, and all served from a converted gas station. This is Shaffer’s BBQ & Market in Winchester Virginia off the I-81. . . . #uncommontothecore #winchesterva #shenandoahvalley #vafoodie #vaeats #eatlocalva #CapitalRegionUSA #VisitTheUSA #BrandUSA #bbq #bbqlovers #loveva

Gringo Gordo Empanada Shop in Old Town Winchester Virginia. Argentina, ham, spicy beef, pepperoni, brisket, smoked chicken, caprese, onion, corn, cheese, mushroom & kale, black bean & corn. Hard to decide which one to try so (no surprise) I went for a 6-pack and washed then down with a cool frosty passion fruit slushy. Verdict? Brisket!!
This is the business centre in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Tysons Corner Virginia. Note the painted reflection of the exterior courtyard in the sunglasses. There is fabulous artwork throughout the hotel and in the suites making this not only a luxuriously comfortable stay but very pretty one.

So much history here in Virginia. This is Woodlawn. George Washington gave this part of Mount Vernon to his nephew and step-granddaughter, Lawrence and Eleanor Lewis, in 1799. Dr. William Thornton, architect of the U.S. Capitol designed Woodlawn. Construction of the Federal-style house occurred between 1800 and 1805.
The starter sets the stage for the rest of the meal to come. Blue Crab & Shrimp Fritters with grilled corn salsa & lobster ginger sauce at Patsy’s American in Vienna Virginia. Beautiful to look at and totally scrumptious. I shared with 2 others but after my first bite, I secretly wished that I was dining alone so I didn’t have to share lol. Is this bad?
